Maruti and Tata will soon launch 5 compact SUVs in the Indian market, some of which will be with internal combustion engines and some will be EV cars. In this article, we will give you detailed information about the compact SUVs that will be launched soon.
1. Tata Scarlett
Tata Scarlett will be launched in India soon and will be a sub-4-meter compact SUV, which is expected to get a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol, 1.2-liter direct-injection turbo-petrol, or 1.5-liter petrol engine. This car is expected to have a boxy design, which is inspired by the Tata Sierra.
Some reports have also said that this car can also be launched with an all-wheel drive option, but according to me, this is unlikely to happen. There is no detailed information about what features can be found in this car, but it is expected to get ADAS, multiple airbags, a rear parking camera, and a touchscreen infotainment system.
2. Maruti Y43
The Maruti Y43 can be launched in 2026 or 2027, and it can come with a 1.2-liter Z-series petrol engine and a 1.0-liter turbo booster jet engine. It will have both manual and automatic transmission. Apart from this, 6 airbags, automatic climate control, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen, and many more features are expected. Its competing cars will be the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.
The price of this car can be between 6 lakh and 12 lakh. A hybrid variant of this car can also be launched, but no information is available about it yet. There are some other rumors about this car, which we will discuss in a single post.
3. Maruti Fronx Hybrid
The Maruti Fronx is a five-seater SUV that is expected to come with a smart hybrid system. It will be equipped with the new Z12E petrol engine, which is also used in the Swift car. With the hybrid system, this car can give a mileage of more than 35 km per liter. This car also has many advanced features like ADAS, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, and a wireless charger.
Safety has also been taken care of in it, like 6 airbags, keyless entry, ABS with EBD, auto-dimming IRVM, hill hold assist, and others. Its interior can also get a 9-inch HD infotainment system, rear AC vent, and fast USB charging points. The ex-showroom price of this car can start from Rs 8 lakh and go up to Rs 13.06 lakh. It is expected to be launched by the end of 2025.
4. New generation Tata Nexon
The new generation Tata Nexon will be launched in late 2026 or early 2027, which is expected to be based on a new version of the X1 architecture. There may be some major cosmetic changes in this car, and many changes will also be made in the cabin. The new Tata Nexon will get a panoramic sunroof and a large touchscreen infotainment system. There will be no change in the engine option of this car, and it will get the existing engine options.
5. Tata Punch Facelift
The facelift version of the Tata Punch is expected to be launched by the end of 2025, which will have many changes. This car will be launched with a new design, features, and technology. Its interior is expected to have a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a two-spoke steering wheel, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 360-degree camera. Important safety features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and Electronic Stability Control can also be included in it. The price of the Tata Punch Facelift is expected to go from around Rs 6.20 lakh to Rs 10.32 lakh. This is a very powerful and safe car, which is a five-seater.
